The Lawrence County Public Library is a place for entertainment, insight, inspiration, instruction, and innovation.
The Lawrence County Public Library services the over 15,000 citizens of Lawrence County as well as neighboring patrons in West Virginia. Located in the county seat of Louisa, the 12,408 square foot building was renovated into a state-of-the art facility in 2009. In fiscal year 2015-16 the library had nearly 66,000 visitors and over 19,000 registered users. Currently, total circulation for the library (not including electronic material) is over 50,000 annually. In 2015-16, library programming total reached over 1,500 with a total attendance of 27,360; an attendance increase of over 10,000 patrons from the previous year.
The library is governed by a Board of Trustees and operated by a staff of eight employees.
