Fall into our fun filled activities!
September 6, 2016
For most of the staff at the library fall is our favorite time of year. The days get cooler and our programming gets busier. We enjoy planning activities during the fall and winter months, especially activities that are family friendly. We keep a family environment and affordability at the forefront of all of our programs. That’s why everything is free to attend! The only exception is the adult painting classes where we ask those registered to bring a donation for our local animal shelter as admission. This can be food, cleaning supplies, beds, towels, leashes…anything you can think of that will help support operations at the shelter.
Last year one of our biggest fall programs was the “Paint Your Own Pumpkin” event. We purchased 250 pumpkins from Forgot N Tymes farm in Lawrence County and ran out not even an hour into our program. We couldn’t believe the turnout. This year I’m proud to say we’re offering the same program (with more pumpkins!) in Louisa as well as in Blaine this year. We’ve also added some new weekly programming to the mix including DIY Wednesdays and Adult Coloring on Thursdays. Returning programs include Home School Mondays, Tasty Tuesdays, and of course Story Hour on Thursdays and Fridays.
Please check our website and events page frequently. We often add programming during the season, that may not be on paper calendars. Also our Facebook page has the most up-to-date information on library activities, including weather closings.
Thank you for supporting your local library and making what we do here a continuing success!
