We are excited to offer a creative STEM challenge to all Lawrence County public school students, grades 8th – 12th. The winner of the challenge will receive a BRAND NEW MACBOOK!!!
The criteria is as follows:
- The item must be made only of books. Connectors are allowed.
- The item must be able to support 5o pounds without bending, breaking, or being damaged.
- The item must be no higher or wider than 50 inches.
- The item must be the original work of the student.
The public will judge the items so be as creative as possible. The challenge will run March 1 – April 28. The finished projects will be displayed at the library and open to public voting April 30 – May 6.The student whose item receives the most votes wins the MacBook! The computer will be presented to the student at their respective school awards program. Please note, the library has some donated books available for use, but we do not guarantee the availability of books.
