Seed Library Kick Off
The Lawrence County Public Library and the Lawrence County Extension Office are kicking off a seed library partnership on July 8. The event will be hosted at the library. The organizations will provide seeds for fall planting and answer any gardening questions patrons have. Feel free to bring any additional seeds you’d like to exchange. The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Limit six packets of seed per family. Participants must have a library card to exchange seed. If you don’t have a library card we’ll be happy to make you one!
How does a seed library work:
The LCPL and LCEO “lend” you seeds to plant. After your crops/flowers/etc. are harvested save the seeds and bring them back to the next seed library event. Borrow. Grow. Save. That’s all there is to it.
