What is a Toniebox and Tonie?

  • The Toniebox is a soft, screen-free speaker for children. Using magnetic figurines called Tonies, toddlers and young children can navigate storytelling and music independently, opening up their world to a library of education and entertainment. It is a kid-safe media platform filled with content from premium partners including National Geographic, Penguin Random House, and LeVar Burton. In addition, original Tonies content offers hours of storytelling, songs, mindfulness activities, and more.

What age range is the Toniebox designed for?

  • The Toniebox is designed for independent play of children ages 3 and older. Younger children can also enjoy the Toniebox experience with proper adult supervision.

Is it easy to use?

  • Tonies help bring on-demand, screen-free education to children. Designed just for kids, the Toniebox is great for independent play. The controls are designed with little listeners (and little hands) in mind, so kids can easily adjust the volume, fast forward, rewind, and change stories all on their own.

How can I use the library’s Toniebox?

  • Tonies are an exciting new addition to our children’s collection. We currently have one Toniebox kit in our collection with a series of eleven (11) tonies. The Toniebox kit is available to check out for in-house use only. The kit must be checked out on an adult card and returned before leaving the building. By checking out the Toniebox kit, the adult is acknowleding a $150 monetary fee for any damage or theft of the box or the Tonies.
